ABSTRACT

These remarks were delivered during the course of a convocation at Christian Brothers University in Memphis on August 18, 2016. This paper touches on the nature of the Lasallian heritage shared by educators, the vision of higher education, and how we are linked as a worldwide network of Lasallian institutions.

Thomas Johnson, FSC, M.A.

Brother Thomas Johnson, FSC, earned his bachelor of arts degree in English from Lewis College (now Lewis University) and a master of arts degree in English and a master of education degree from De Paul University. He is a former Vicar General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (2007-2014) and currently serves as director of novices for the Region of North America of the De La Salle Christian Brothers in Chicago, Illinois.
