ABSTRACT

In this address to participants in the Fourth Annual International Lasallian Research Symposium, the Superior General articulates how the Year of Consecrated Life, the dedication of the year 2016 as the special jubilee Year of Mercy, and publication of the papal encyclical Laudato Si comprise a set of compelling invitations for three encounters: a personal encounter with the meaning of our Lasallian vocation for today, a relational encounter of mercy with people on the margins of our societies, and an encounter with our environment – God’s creation. Implications for existing and emerging Lasallian research agendas are explored.
