Abstract
This article examines the 2025 integration of the District of Francophone Canada into the District of Eastern North America as a continuation of the Lasallian tradition of innovation. Situating this transition within nearly two centuries of history in Québec, it highlights key moments of adaptability, including pedagogical creativity, missionary expansion, and the development of alternative ministries. Despite declining numbers of Brothers, the Lasallian mission remains vibrant through lay partnership and new governance structures. The study argues that this communion represents an opportunity sustain the Lasallian charism through collaboration, responsiveness to social change, and a shared commitment to educating youth in contemporary contexts.

About the Author
Antoine Béland is the associate director of the Office for Mission and Ministry for the District of Eastern North America (DENA), Sector of Québec. He is a lifelong Lasallian educator who has served at all levels of the Mission, including stints as International Coordinator for Young Lasallians and as Assistant Director at Camp De-La-Salle in Québec. He holds a master’s degree in Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
