Holy Father Leo XIV

Abstract

Marking the sixtieth anniversary of Gravissimum educationis, Pope Leo XIV’s “Drawing New Maps of Hope” reaffirms education as a central act of evangelization and a vital expression of Christian charity. In a fragmented, digital age, it proposes a renewed Christian paideia integrating faith and reason, knowledge and justice, and person-centered formation. The document highlights the Church’s dynamic educational tradition, the communal nature of teaching, and the priority of dignity, inclusion, and peace. Emphasizing families, educators, and global collaboration, it calls for ethical engagement with technology and a revitalized Global Compact on Education, charting a hopeful, integral humanism for contemporary challenges.
