Abstract
These remarks were presented at the LASSCA Conference (Lasallian Association of Secondary School Chief Administrators), held in Houston, Texas, on March 2, 2026, as part of the conference convened from March 1-4, 2026. In “New Maps of Hope in a Fragmented World,” Brother Armin summons Lasallian educators to practice creative fidelity, prophetic audacity, and inclusive fraternity amid systemic disruption. This address is a call to shift from preservation to adaptive mission-educating in motion, building the bridge while crossing it, and anchoring innovation in Gospel hope. The remarks situate Catholic schooling within inequities, enrollment, and change, while advancing networked collaboration, systemic thinking, and hybrid models as pathways to sustainability. Ultimately, education emerges as an act of hope and a work of love that resists despair and reweaves community.

About the Author
Brother Armin Luistro, FSC, brings more than 34 years of experience and leadership in the public and private sectors. He began his teaching career in his homeland of the Philippines, at La Salle Lipa, where he served as a religion teacher, counselor, and pastoral coordinator between 1983 and 1986. Subsequently, after performing various services and responsibilities in various Lasallian ministries, he was appointed Visitor of the then District of the Philippines for the period 1997-2003. He served as secretary of the Department of Education for his country from June 2010-2016. Prior to that, he led De La Salle University, serving as its president. Elected in 2022 as Superior General of the Institute, Brother Armin is a member of the Union of Superiors General, based in Rome. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Management from the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod (Philippines).
