Brother William Mann, FSC, D.Min.
Abstract
Reflecting on his experience in a hurricane, Brother William Mann draws a parallel between rescuing a drifting boat and the struggle of parents to guide children amid today’s cultural turbulence. Youth face moral ambiguity, materialism, peer pressure, and lack of role models, while parents—often single—are overwhelmed. This context underscores the Lasallian mission: to embody Christ the Good Shepherd and reclaim abandoned youth through catechetical evangelization and authentic witness. The Institute is called to renewal, prioritizing prayer, identity, and commitment to Christian education. Lasallian educators must consecrate their lives to God’s glory, confident that their work is truly God’s saving mission.
