Brother Edgar Nicodem, FSC
Abstract
This article analyzes the process of justification within the spirituality of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, focusing on his Meditations and Explanation of the Method of Interior Prayer. De La Salle presents a coherent spiritual vision grounded in lived experience. His radical openness to Providence and commitment to the poor exemplify justification as grace transforming human weakness. The study highlights Pauline stages of justification—acknowledgment of sin, freedom through Christ, transformation by the Spirit—mediated through the Church and expressed in apostolic service. For De La Salle, grace is both gift and responsibility, animating mission.
